Inscopix Researcher

Justin is fluent in both English and Korean, and brings a unique blend of academic, technical, and mentorship experience to his teaching.

Having spent his career in research laboratories, Justin has developed both software and hardware systems to acquire, process, and analyze scientific data. His hands-on experience spans across multiple STEM fields, allowing him to teach complex topics with clarity and real-world relevance.

Beyond the classroom, Justin has guided fellow researchers in programming and tool development, and has a strong passion for mentoring students. He offers practical, individualized support on academic planning, college admissions, and navigating the path from education to a meaningful career. His goal is to help students not only master the material, but also find direction and confidence in their academic and professional journeys.

Dr. Moon Baik

Credentials:

B.S. in Physics, Seoul National University

Ph.D. in Physics, University of Southern California

Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Post-doc

Professor at Gachon University, Korea (1997-2021)

Professor Baik, Moon-Gu earned his Ph.D. at USC in the United States and returned to Korea, where he spent time as a postdoctoral researcher and then dedicated 25 years to academia as a university professor. He has taught physics to students while conducting research in atomic physics, establishing himself as both a scientist and an educator.

During his tenure as a professor, he experienced the profound impact of excellent teaching and observed students’ learning processes and career choices. His commitment to improving education remained constant, as he continually sought ways to refine his teaching methods.

Even after retiring from his professorship, he remains passionate about education. He helps young students build strong foundations by thoroughly understanding fundamental principles in key subjects like mathematics and physics. Since mathematics largely evolves alongside physics, learning mathematics is closely linked with an understanding of physics. His extensive experience teaching courses such as mathematical physics, computational physics, and quantum mechanics further strengthens his ability to effectively teach mathematics.

He finds no greater joy than when former students, now thriving in various fields, return to share their journeys with him. He believes few things in life are as rewarding as witnessing their progress and success.
